HITRUST Adoption Course
The HITRUST Adoption course provides the background you need to begin your HITRUST journey, with an understanding of information risk, approaches to assessing and controlling risk, and guidance on integrating HITRUST into your organization’s compliance program. The course is intended for executives, managers, and staff that leverage or plan to leverage the HITRUST approach in their organization’s compliance program to manage information risk more efficiently and effectively.

Topics
At the conclusion of this course, participants will be able to:
- Identify organizational risk and use the MyCSF tool to properly set the scope of organizational assessments
- Demonstrate methods for how the compliance function can be used to meet identified standards and requirements
- Establish organizational strategies for security, privacy and compliance; build out timelines to meet objectives (define, implement, assess, report)
- Identify and categorize systems based off the information they manage and their associated risk
- Understand how and when to engage with an Authorized External Assessor
- Select the best type of HITRUST assessment to address risk and meet reporting need(s)
- Understand the value of the HITRUST approach (assess once/report many)
- Manage the efficiency and effectiveness of a Third-Party Risk Management Program via a HITRUST Assessment (both internal consumption and external reporting)
- Use the MyCSF tool to integrate and monitor requirements across the organization

Intended Audience

Continuing Professional Education Credit
Participants who complete the course are eligible for 9 hours to be applied toward continuing professional education (CPE) credit. Certificates of Completion will include the CPE hours and are available on an individual’s HITRUST Academy account.
