HITRUST is extremely pleased to announce the appointment of Carl Anderson as Chief Legal Officer and Vice President of Government Affairs for HITRUST.
In Anderson’s new position, he will counsel and broadly represent HITRUST globally, including its engagement with public sector partners on information sharing, risk management and threat mitigation. He will also further develop the value of HITRUST in the marketplace and continue to strengthen relationships and define our role with policies, our government partners and policy makers at the state and federal levels. He will continue to educate the global community on cyber risk management strategies while ensuring that information and data continue to be private and protected.
The addition of Carl Anderson to the HITRUST management team enables HITRUST to continue to expand as an industry leader and assist other organizations that face the ongoing challenges of information risk management.
Anderson is a seasoned counsel and joins the organization from Van Scoyoc Associates where he served as a Vice President. Anderson also served on the firm’s Crisis Management Team where he was instrumental in developing advocacy strategies during a national health crisis and other critical policy debates. Prior to that, he was Counsel to the House Energy and Commerce Committee. His experience with healthcare and information technology security and privacy spans over a decade.
HITRUST is also pleased to announce the appointment of Matthew Datel as Manager of Third Party Assurance. In his new role, he will work to expand HITRUST services focused on third-party risk management and assurance, including the adoption of HITRUST CSF, CSF BASICs, and the HITRUST Assessment Exchange. He will also act as an advocate for organizations that have adopted and assessed against the HITRUST CSF in discussions with customers and regulators relating to its acceptance. Mr. Datel joins us from PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he specialized in Healthcare and Financial Services for the firm’s Risk Assurance practice.
As HITRUST continues to expand its focus globally, we believe these appointments will help us better respond to – and meet – the information security, privacy and risk management needs of those that rely on us.
