Join NIST and HITRUST in a discussion about Cyber Security Frameworks.
Understanding the NIST Cyber Security Framework and how to leverage the HITRUST CSF to implement the NIST framework in the healthcare industry.
On February 12, 2014, NIST issued the Framework for Improving Critical Infrastructure Cybersecurity in response to Executive Order 13636. The Framework, created through collaboration between industry and government, consists of standards, guidelines, and practices to help critical infrastructure, including the Healthcare and Public Health Sector, manage cybersecurity risk.
There continues to be many questions by healthcare organizations about the NIST Cyber Security Framework and how it relates to the HITRUST Common Security Framework (CSF).
On December 16, 2014, representatives from NIST and HITRUST provided an overview of the NIST Framework, and discussed how the HITRUST CSF integrates, leverages and adds industry context and implementation guidance to improve the management of cybersecurity risk to healthcare and public health organizations.
